Tales for Elementary Children

In Montessori, we begin with the First Great Story about the creation of our universe, the stars, the solar system, our planet and much more. 

We introduce Biology with the Second Great Story, the Timeline of Life. This timeline shows life on our planet from the very beginning all the way up to the human being!

The Third Great Story is the story of human beings. What makes us unique? What allowed us to progress to where we are today? This story introduces history stories about us!

The Fourth Great Story introduces human communication from the first written language to the invention of mass printing.

In the Fifth Great Story we introduce why humans created math: in order to count their food supply, to measure distance, to count the people or to make sure their trades were fair.

We believe that children need to have positive role models in their lives. As Montessorians, we share stories about people in history that were influential with the children.
